Helge Schneider hat leider Recht, da es an mehr als einer Ecke im Darmstadtium noch nicht funktioniert. Über Architektur lässt sich ja immer streiten und es ist immer leichter Dinge einfach schlecht zu finden. Ich finde das Ding erstmal gelungen, auch wenn ich etliches aufzählen könnte, was mir absolut nicht zusagt (Einbindung der Stadtmauer, Vorplatzgestalltung, Eingang, etc.). Unglücklich finde ich die technischen Probleme an der hydraulisch anhebbaren Tribüne (foto nr. 6) Die Stufe lies sich nicht einfahren, da sich irgendwas verzogen hat und das Teil press auf eine andere Stufe gedrückt hat.

Helge Schneider was right, when he refused to go on stage at the Darmstadtium some days ago. There are several details which aren’t solved. A lot of cladding was missing and the builging doesn’t look finished. Technical problems with the hydraulic lift for the stands can been seen at pic. no 6. The step couldn’t be countersinked and the floor was a hilly landscape – closed for the public. Anyhow I think the Darmstadtium is a great building for Darmstadt even if I don’t like some of the architects choises.
